The Imo State Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Engineering was established to drive technological advancement and economic development through research, innovation, and capacity building. Over the years, it has launched initiatives like the Technology Incubation Centre. In 2022, Imo won the National Science and Technology Expo, highlighting the ministry’s impact. It continues to foster innovation, digital transformation, and collaboration with global partners for sustainable state development.
About The Commissioner
Rt. Hon. Engr. Ikenna Onyechere Elezieanya (b. 1969, Imo State) is an accomplished engineer and seasoned politician. He served as the Federal Representative for Owerri Municipal, North, and West from May 2019 to May 2023, elected under the PDP and contributed to legislative initiatives . In 2023, he was nominated and screened by the Imo State House of Assembly to serve as a commissioner in the current state administration Prior to this, he made a notable impact in his constituency by driving community projects across Owerri North, West, and Municipal areas. He is recognized for his integrity, legislative record, and dedication to sustainable development and public service.
