About the Ministry
The Imo State Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Engineering was established to drive technological advancement and economic development through research, innovation, and capacity building. Over the years, it has launched initiatives like the Technology Incubation Centre. In 2022, Imo won the National Science and Technology Expo, highlighting the ministry’s impact. It continues to foster innovation, digital transformation, and collaboration with global partners for sustainable state development.

Our Structure
The Ministry is divided into specialized departments that work collectively to achieve the ministry's objectives.
Department of Administration and Finance
Manages personnel matters including recruitment, promotions, and staff welfare. Oversees budget preparation, financial planning, and internal controls. Coordinates administrative support for all departments.
Department of Accounts
Handles all financial transactions and bookkeeping. Prepares financial reports, expenditure statements, and audits. Ensures compliance with financial regulations and timely payments.
Department of Planning, Research & Statistics
Develops strategic plans and policy frameworks for the ministry. Conducts research and data analysis for informed decision-making. Monitors and evaluates programs, compiling statistical reports.
Department of Engineering
Oversees technical projects related to infrastructure and innovation. Provides engineering expertise for research, product development, and industrial solutions. Supervises the design, execution, and maintenance of technical installations.
Department of Procurement
Manages the sourcing, purchasing, and contracting of goods and services. Ensures transparency and compliance with public procurement laws. Maintains vendor relationships and inventory systems.
